OMYT Dance Space
Choreographer and artistic director — Nadezhda Kokhanova
OMYT (pronounced “Omut”, Russian for “whirlpool”) is a contemporary dance space in Saint Petersburg: a school for adults and children and a dance company. Classes run from complete beginners to advanced level, and the company premieres its work on the New Stage of the Alexandrinsky Theatre.
Founder and lead choreographer — Nadezhda Kokhanova, director and teacher. Her pieces are made in a live process together with specific people — which is why they feel close, clear and resonant to the audience. Nadezhda often performs on stage alongside her dancers.
