The Scent of Rose Oil

A physical theatre reflection on the biblical thread of Bulgakov's “The Master and Margarita” — on a choice that one day turns out to have been predetermined, and the price paid for it.

Everything is as clear as day — though the day will only be called that decades from now. There is power, and there is peace. And there is a price paid for choosing one or the other. One day that choice turns out to have been predetermined, decided in advance, inevitable. And the price is centuries of ordeal, loneliness, estrangement, and that terrible smell — the smell of rose oil, bringing an eternal, unbearable headache.

AELITA PRODUCTION has already worked with producer Misha Kazmiruk — the company brought the show “Stories. Of Earth and Heaven” to the Alexandrinsky Theatre's New Stage, and he curated that performance too. But this is the company's first time working with OMYT.
