Can you hold your balance using your tongue? Restore movement to a paralysed arm? Stop the pain in a limb that's long gone? It sounds like science fiction. But behind every story are real studies, patients and rebel scientists who were at first considered freaks, madmen and dangerous heretics.

Concept and director Dmitry Turkov brings together scientific discoveries and human stories in a provocative theatrical experiment. On stage — actor Sergey Vasin as an eccentric scientist-Mephistopheles. He turns the auditorium now into a laboratory, now into a jury room: running experiments, presenting evidence, and testing how easily a person can be made to believe the impossible. Or to disbelieve what's already been proven.

You'll have to decide: where a scientific breakthrough ends and madness begins; whether a cruel experiment can be justified by the lives it saves; whether a damaged limb is always truly atrophied — or the brain is just too lazy to use it; and who's really in charge of your brain while you're sure you're thinking for yourself.

Dmitry Turkov has already directed for AELITA PRODUCTION — the sound drama “Gogol Suite” based on the novella by Nikolai Gogol.
